Product Description
Chana Dal mill plant process includes cleaning, de-husking, splitting, polishing, and grading.
1. Cleaning and Preparation:
- Chana (chickpeas) are first cleaned to remove foreign matter like dust, dirt, chaff, stones, and immature grains.
- The chickpeas may be moistened and conditioned to facilitate the de-husking process.
- The de-husking process, which involves removing the outer layer of the chickpea, is often done using emery rollers or other de-husking machines.
- This process can be repeated multiple times to ensure thorough de-husking.
- Aspiration may be used to remove husk fragments.
3. Splitting and Polishing:
- The de-husked chickpeas are then split into two halves using a splitting machine, creating the chana dal.
- The chana dal may be polished using various methods (e.g., leather polish, oil/water polish) to improve its appearance.
4. Grading and Packaging:
- Chana dal is then graded according to size using sieves.
- The finished product is packaged and prepared for sale.
